About Chris Buckner

Chris Buckner is a proud Knoxville, Tennessee native who currently lives in New York City. Chris attended the University of Tennessee-Knoxville after graduating from high school, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Public Relations. UT, or Tennessee University, began as a modest institution in 1794 and has since evolved to become the state’s flagship university and the state’s leading public research facility. In addition to its diverse curriculum, the school has 225 years of community involvement locally and globally. Through research and engagement programs, the university’s space and agricultural divisions have a long tradition of teaching locals and tourists and making a positive difference in people’s lives.

Chris spent a few years traveling after receiving his undergraduate degree before settling on a profession. Chris is a born writer, and for many years he worked as a columnist for Metropulse, a publication that is a member of the Association of Alternative Newsmedia (AAN). Chris, who has been a vocal activist from a young age, turned to this platform to advance alternative media via outreach and instruction. AAN publications are renowned for their regional focus on the arts and culture, their objectivity in news reporting, compassion for social and individual rights, and zeal for covering topics that many mainstream media outlets ignore. In his weekly lifestyle column, Chris Buckner highlighted local artists, where he shared museum exhibition insights and promoted new bands. Chris also obtained showcase experience as a cover story writer.

Before moving to New York, Chris honed his customer service skills at Three Rivers Market in Knoxville, a cooperative hub for sustainable local businesses. Chris assisted the co-op with serving its members by fostering a better community, a healthier environment, and a healthier population.

Chris has always been a good match for the sales field. He has thrived in the retail industry for almost two decades. As a showroom manager for Crate and Barrel, Chris led $1.5 million in sales for fiscal 2014 in the New York City flagship location. Chris was ranked #1 in sales for his region and #2 for the company as a whole. Going beyond traditional customer service, Chris Buckner immediately stood out for his clients’ customized floor plans and proactive mood boards. As a result of his dedication and talent, Christ spent the next several years establishing a loyal customer base that grew as he evolved in the retail world.
